  • Added a new array .Site.Params.years available in Hugo templates. This is just a list of all the years from your first blog post to the current year. Useful if you need to get this quickly for navigation and menus.

  • Fixed a new issue with uploads to our European servers not being served correctly. All the uploads that weren’t loading should be fixed now.

  • Updated the Mac app with a couple improvements for copying HTML for photos and an Edit menu → Copy Link shortcut for copying blog post links.

  • Fixed a performance issue for the European-based blog hosting. One of our servers was temporarily down. (Your websites remained up, though!)

  • Fixed automatically generating the accessibility description on the new post page. This accidentally stopped working a few days ago. Upload a photo and tap the thumbnail if you have AI enabled.

  • Fixed a new problem where updating older posts from iOS or Android would change the published date to the current date. If this affected you, you can edit any post on the web to fix its date.

  • Added photo toolbar button to blog post editing on the web. See Manton’s blog post with a screenshot and full details.

  • Updated the README for the Recommendations blogroll shortcode plug-in to document the different parameters you can use for showing a blogroll.

  • Fixed an issue where the automatic keywords for a blog post (which can be used when setting up a category filter) were not saved.

  • Fixed some replies from Mastodon not appearing in the Mentions section of Micro.blog. They were still on the conversation and timeline, but you might have missed them since they were missing from Mentions. I’m very sorry about this bug!

  • Micro.blog for Android has been updated in Google Play. Some of the changes:

    • Changed photo options screen to automatically fill in auto-generated accessibility description if not set.
    • Improved handling photo upload progress including canceling.

    Plus several bug fixes and other improvements.

  • Fixed video uploads not always getting saved correctly, so that sometimes only the poster frame image would remain after an upload. Should work more reliably across platforms, with videos up to 75 MB.

  • Fixed bookmarks and highlights search, for Micro.blog Premium subscribers.

  • Updated Micro.blog for macOS to version 3.5.7, fixing several bugs.

  • Fixed another new issue where replies from some Mastodon users were not correctly added to Micro.blog, particularly from new Mastodon users.

  • Micro.blog for iOS has been updated in the App Store with more improvements, including with photo upload and an easier workflow for setting accessibility text. As always, full release notes in the help center.

  • Updated the default theme Sumo to the latest version. If you are using the plug-in, make sure to hop over to the Plug-ins page to update when you have time. Special thanks to @Mtt for maintaining this theme.

  • Fixed the new filter page (Categories → Edit Filters → New Filter) to not clear the current blog post keywords. This is a feature for Micro.blog Premium subscribers. You can learn more about this video in this video on YouTube.

  • Updated WordPress file import to no longer import post tags as categories. Many people have lots of tags, which would create an overwhelming number of categories to manage in Micro.blog.

  • Fixed an issue following many redirects when installing plug-ins from GitHub, fixing an issue with some themes such as Outpost.

  • Changed replies to Bluesky to no longer include the first username in the copy of the post on Bluesky. The username is still shown in the timeline and conversation on Micro.blog.

  • Fixed an issue where mentions to Mastodon users weren’t actually sent to remote servers if Micro.blog hadn’t yet cached the ActivityPub info for that user.

  • Created a new plug-in called simply “Custom footer” that is useful for Micro.one customers. Because Micro.one doesn’t have a full theme editing interface, it wasn’t possible to just insert a quick bit of JavaScript, for example for analytics packages. Now you can install the plug-in to handle this.

  • Micro.blog 3.5.6 for macOS is now available with improved search results highlighting and a new search field for the Replies page.

  • Updated Micro.blog for Android to version 2.5.1 with many fixes, plus some improvements to managing drafts.
